Linda Searby is an assistant professor of educational leadership at Auburn University and a mentor in the NAESP National Mentor Program. Dr. Searby has been an elementary school teacher and a principal, and her academic research centers on mentoring. Dr. Linda Searby has been in the field of education for over 25 years. She has been an elementary school teacher, public elementary school principal, and is currently on the faculty of the Educational Leadership program at Auburn University, Auburn, AL. Dr. Searby also served as Program Coordinator of Educational Leadership at the University of Alabama at Birmingham from 2005–2011. She has presented extensively to principals and teachers on topics such as Mentoring, The Power of Reflection, Characteristics of Stuck and Moving Schools, Engaging Women in Mentoring Relationships, and Effective Leadership. Dr. Searby’s research centers on mentoring, and she has presented nationally/ internationally, and published 19 articles in peer-reviewed journals on mentoring new principals, mentoring higher education female administrators, and mentoring graduate students.
